STANFORD NURSE ENGAGEMENT

As the largest sector of the healthcare workforce, working on the front lines of patient care, we know that excellence in patient and organizational outcomes is only possible when we create the conditions where professional nurses can flourish. We pride ourselves on maintaining high levels of nurse engagement through empowerment. Nursing excellence, after all,  begins and ends with nurses. 

Nursing Engagement is a vital component of Stanford Health Care’s success as an organization. It has been a strategic imperative to provide a well-staffed, safe environment for nurses that promotes a high level of staff engagement, robust educational opportunities, and strong nurse leadership at all levels of the organization. The outcomes of the NDNQI Nursing Engagement survey reflect our sustained commitment to nurses and a healthy practice environment. The organization meets the Magnet® standard for outperformance in nurse satisfaction in 6 of 7 categories. 

In an incredible show of engagement across the enterprise, 94% of our RNs/APRNs (2268 total) completed the NDNQI Practice Environment Survey this year - this is the most successful NDNQI response-rate Stanford has received.  Through the NDNQI survey, we are able to make better, more impactful decisions that support professional nursing practice and create healthy work environments that foster clinical, operational, and leadership excellence. I want to sincerely thank you for your leadership and involvement! This level of participation is top tier in the world and it reflects the leadership and performance of our Stanford Nurses.
